2020年東華提出以奠基於ESG（環境、社會、治理）三大主軸之永續發展願景藍圖，與聯合國永續發展目標 (Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs) 17項目標連結，延伸為健康福祉、能力建構、行動實踐、領導示範、科技創新、資源效益、全球布局、氣候行動八個面向，以面臨氣候變化議題、環境、社會資源損耗等帶來的挑戰，並期能共同實現社會、經濟、教育、環境的永續未來。
In 2020, the NDHU proposed a blueprint for sustainable development based on the three major axes of ESG (environment, society, and governance), and linked with the 17 goals of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), extending to eight aspects, which are health and well-being, capacity building, mobility, leadership, technology and innovation, resources, globalization, and climate action, in order to face the challenges brought by climate change, environmental or social resources depletion, and etc., and hope to jointly achieve a future with a sustainable society, economy, education, and environment.
